RecallBranch (“the App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how that information is used and stored, and the choices available to you.
RecallBranch is a mind-mapping and active recall app. It allows users to organize information visually and review it by hiding and revealing branch labels.
The App stores your maps and related information locally on your device. When iCloud is available and enabled for RecallBranch, map data is also synchronized through Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services.
RecallBranch does not require you to create a separate account with the developer.
RecallBranch handles information that you create or configure while using the App.
This may include:
The contents of your maps may include personal, confidential, or sensitive information if you choose to enter such information. RecallBranch does not require you to enter personal information.
The App uses this information to:
Your map content is not used by the developer for advertising, behavioral tracking, user profiling, or marketing.
RecallBranch stores map data locally on your device using storage technologies provided by iOS and iPadOS, including SwiftData.
Appearance and onboarding preferences are stored using standard app preference storage.
The App can be used without an active internet connection. Changes made while offline are stored locally and may synchronize when the device reconnects to the internet and iCloud is available.
RecallBranch uses Apple’s CloudKit service to synchronize map data when iCloud is available and enabled for the App.
Synchronized information may include:
Synchronization uses the Apple Account signed in on your device. No separate RecallBranch login is required.
RecallBranch does not request, receive, or store your Apple Account password.
Information synchronized through iCloud is transmitted to and processed by Apple. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s applicable terms and privacy policies.
The current version of RecallBranch does not operate a developer-controlled server that receives or stores your map content.
The App does not include code that sends your maps to the developer.
The current version does not include:
The developer does not sell, rent, or use your map content for advertising or marketing.
If you contact the developer for support, feedback, a bug report, or a feature request, the developer may receive the information that you voluntarily provide.
This may include:
This information is used only to review and respond to your request, diagnose reported problems, improve the App, and maintain appropriate support records.
You should avoid including confidential or sensitive map content in support messages unless it is necessary to explain the issue.
The current version of RecallBranch uses Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services for synchronization.
The App does not currently integrate non-Apple advertising, analytics, tracking, or user-profiling services.
Apple may separately process information related to iCloud, device operation, App Store distribution, purchases, or diagnostics in accordance with Apple’s own terms, privacy policies, and your device settings.
If additional external services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy may be updated to describe them.
The developer does not sell or rent your personal information or map content.
The developer does not share your map content with third parties for advertising, marketing, analytics, or user profiling.
Information synchronized through iCloud is processed by Apple to provide the synchronization functionality used by the App.
Information voluntarily provided in a support request may be processed by the services used to deliver and receive that communication, such as your email provider and the developer’s email provider.
You can delete individual branches, maps, and groups from within RecallBranch.
When iCloud synchronization is active, changes and deletions made in the App may synchronize to your other devices and to the corresponding data stored through iCloud.
Deleting RecallBranch from one device removes the App and its locally stored data from that device. However, synchronized map data may remain in iCloud or on other devices.
If you reinstall RecallBranch while signed in to the same Apple Account, synchronized data may become available again.
You can manage RecallBranch’s access to iCloud through your device settings. You may also be able to manage or delete RecallBranch data through your iCloud storage settings.
Disabling iCloud synchronization does not necessarily delete information that was already stored locally, in iCloud, or on another device.
If you want map deletions to synchronize, delete the maps from within RecallBranch while iCloud is available and allow time for the changes to synchronize.
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, maintain support records, resolve disputes, or satisfy applicable legal requirements.
You may:
RecallBranch does not require a separate account and does not intentionally collect identifying information from children through the App.
Users can freely enter text into mind maps. Children and other users should avoid entering personal or sensitive information that is not necessary for their use of the App.
If a parent or guardian believes that personal information has been entered inappropriately, the relevant content can be removed from within the App or through the applicable device and iCloud settings.
RecallBranch relies on the security protections provided by iOS, iPadOS, SwiftData, iCloud, and CloudKit.
Reasonable efforts are made to design and maintain the App responsibly. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Apple Account, including the use of an appropriate device passcode and account security settings.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect:
Updates will be reflected by revising the effective date shown at the top of this Privacy Policy.
Material changes may also be communicated through the App, its support page, or its App Store listing where appropriate.
