CalcGate (“the App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.

1. Overview

CalcGate is a focus and self-control app that helps users intentionally restrict access to selected apps by requiring either a math challenge or the completion of a lock period before access is restored.

The App uses Apple Screen Time technologies, including the FamilyControls framework, to allow users to select apps or app categories to restrict on their own device.

2. Information the App Handles

CalcGate stores information locally on your device that is necessary to provide the App’s functionality. This may include:

• Math challenge settings, such as:

  • selected difficulty
  • enabled math operations
  • number of questions

• Lock configuration settings, such as:

  • timer durations
  • scheduled lock times
  • recurring schedule settings
• Selected apps or app categories
• Lock status and active restriction state
• Temporary unlock override state for scheduled locks
• Onboarding completion status
• Internal app state required to manage restrictions and unlock requests

This information is used solely to operate the App’s features.

3. How Information Is Used

The App uses stored information to:

• apply and remove app restrictions selected by the user
• manage manual and scheduled locks
• generate and present math challenges
• determine whether unlock requirements have been completed
• determine whether timer or schedule conditions have ended
• preserve settings and preferences between app launches
• maintain lock consistency while restrictions are active
• support communication between the main app and its Screen Time extension components

4. Data Storage

All settings, lock data, and related app state are stored locally on the user’s device using standard iOS storage mechanisms, including App Group shared storage where required for Screen Time functionality.

The App does not require account creation.

The developer does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for advertising, analytics, or marketing purposes.

5. Screen Time / FamilyControls Permission

CalcGate requests permission to use Apple’s Screen Time APIs, including the FamilyControls framework, in order to allow users to select apps or app categories to restrict.

These permissions are used only for the App’s intended restriction and focus-support functionality.

6. Third-Party Services

CalcGate does not currently include:

• third-party analytics SDKs
• advertising SDKs
• external tracking technologies
• third-party user profiling services

If third-party services are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.

Because CalcGate does not require accounts or collect personal data from users, the App does not knowingly store personally identifiable information from children.

8. Security

The App stores data locally on the device and does not transmit personal data to external servers as part of its core functionality.

While reasonable efforts are made to design the App responsibly and securely, no method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Your Choices

You may stop using the App at any time.

You may remove locally stored app data by deleting the App from your device.

Permissions granted to CalcGate can also be managed or revoked through your device’s Screen Time and Settings menus.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.

Any future updates will be reflected by revising the effective date shown above.
